Placement Fee: $975

 

This project works to protect the habitat of black howler monkeys. It is community supported, providing eco-tourism opportunities to local guides and service providers. Volunteers are needed to assist with administrative projects including the development of promotional and educational materials. Grant writing and fund raising is also needed.

Skills and Experience: Volunteers should be self-motivated with strong interests in conservation, eco-tourism and sustainable development. Volunteers should be comfortable living in a remote, rural setting. Good writing and communication skills needed.

Living Conditions: Volunteers live in small local hotels or homes. Volunteers pay $15 per day for meals and lodging.

Getting There: Transportation to the site is not included and involves a bus ride from Belize City.
