Work Description: Working with an animal shelter/humane society. Volunteers assist veterinarians and animal shelter staff, providing treatment for sick or injured dogs, cats and horses.
Location: Eastern Puerto Rico
Meals & lodging: Volunteers are responsible for their room and board. Kitchen facilities are available.
Dates available: Year-round
Requirements: Interest in animal care (experience is helpful, but not required). Rabies vaccination.

Work Description: Working with a small rainforest reserve. Tasks include trail maintenance, reforestation, light construction, upkeep of facilities, meal prep and guiding tours for visiting eco-tourists.
Location: Eastern Puerto Rico
Meals & Lodging: Volunteers pay $15 per day for meals and lodging which are provided at the reserve.
Dates available: Year-round
Requirements: Interest in conservation. Prepared for physical labor and living in a remote forest setting.
Work Description: Assisting a small family-run hotel design and develop a website. The owner of the hotel is actively involved in animal rescue on the island.
Location: An island off the east coast of Puerto Rico
Meals & Lodging: Lodging and some meals provided
Dates available: Year-round
Requirements: Website design and development experience. A laptop and software will be necessary.
